How to Remove a Background From an Image on Your Phone

You do not need a separate app install. CutMyBG runs in the phone browser. The image stays on the device, and the download is a PNG.
Open the page in the browser
Use Safari or Chrome and open CutMyBG. Add the page to your home screen if you want it later. That shortcut still opens the browser tool. It does not install a different processor.
Choose the picture
- Tap the upload area and choose a photo from your library.
- Or copy an image and paste it into the page, where the browser allows paste.
- If the camera saved a format the tool cannot read, such as HEIC, export a JPG from the photos app first.
Wait for the first model download
The first removal downloads the AI model over your connection. On a phone, that is more noticeable than on a desktop, especially on mobile data. Later images in the same browser reuse the saved model. Keep the tab open until the preview appears.
Save the PNG
Tap Download PNG. Depending on the phone, the file lands in Downloads or Files, or the browser asks where to save it. The comparison slider works with touch: drag across the preview. Pinch-zoom the page if you need a closer look at an edge, then drag the slider rather than the image.
