What free means here
You can open the site, choose an image, remove the background, and download the PNG without signing up. The tool does not ask for a subscription to run.
- JPG, PNG, or WebP only.
- Up to 15 MB per file.
- Up to 24 megapixels. Larger files are declined.
- Very large accepted photos are scaled down before processing.
- The download is a transparent PNG.
Those limits are there because the work happens on your device. They are not a paywall.
The first image can use more data
The AI model is downloaded to your browser the first time you remove a background, then reused from the browser cache. That download is separate from your image. Your image is still not uploaded for processing. How the model is used is explained on the AI background remover page.
No account is required
There is no login and no library of past images on a server, because the pictures are not stored by CutMyBG. When you leave the page or remove another image, the previous preview is cleared in the browser.
